The Land Project Patagonia – Your Happy Place!
The Land Project Patagonia land consists of plots (3 meters x 3 meters = 9 square meters or 96.9 square feet) of land on the edge of Lake Viedma in the Province of Santa Cruz, in Argentine Patagonia.
Home base of The Land Project Patagonia natural reserve is a puesto which is available for all Land Project Patagonia owners to enjoy as a place to hang out, prepare food and meet other land owners.
Traditionally a puesto was a structure built at the turn of the century by early Patagonia settlers. Get in touch with us at The Land Project to make sure the puesto is available during any particular night and be ready so share it with other Land Project Patagonia owners during your stay.
Where is The Land Project Patagonia Located?
The Land Project Patagonia Reserve is located in Argentine Patagonia. You’ll find it in the Province of Santa Cruz almost exactly half way between El Calafate and the climbing mecca El Chaltén.
With a population density of less than 1.92 people per square kilometre, in Patagonia you will always have that special feeling of being at one with nature far from the crowds.
Conveniently, the reserve is just 1200 meters by trail to the nearest road. The Leona river and its eponymous historic truck stop are 5.2 kilometres away
The reserve is accessible by car or bus from El Calafate 110 kilometres away or El Chaltén 103 kilometres to the west.
Nearby you have all the hiking, climbing, mountain biking and exploration you could wish for.
Argentina’s first UNESCO World Heritage site, the Parque Nacional Los Glaciares is nearby. Within it you’ll discover the awe-inspiring Perito Moreno Glacier that everyone should visit at least once in their life.
Further to the south in Chile of course there is the world-famous Torres del Paine National Park.
In fact, if you head in pretty much any direction you’ll be dazzled by the natural beauty of this part of the world.

When’s the best time to visit your land?
It’s yours, you can come anytime.
Patagonia, Wyoming and Finland are great to visit all-year-round! Your experience will differ from season to season. When you go where depends very much on what you like to spend your time doing, how important temperatures are to you etc.
For example, In Patagonia the Spring – Summer season runs from September to March. This is when most people come. The landscape is at its greenest with lots of pretty small flowers around like Zapatito de la Virgen. In mid-December is when you’ll find the longest hours of sunlight so you can spend most time exploring. You won’t encounter any particular biting bugs whatever time of year.
Depending on the year Fall & Winter come to visit from March to August. There will likely be less wind then and probably snow on the ground which makes it much easier for spotting wildlife – particularly the elusive puma. This is also the best time to spot the Southern Cross and other constellations from the southern sky.
In Finland and Wyoming the seasons are reversed. Spring starts in mid-March, the longest day is on the 20th or 21st June, and summer last from June to the end of August.
