FAQ

Can I visit the land?
Yes, you have the right to visit your piece of land with whomever you want, whenever you want and as often as you want.

You are welcome to visit your piece of land for example by walking, skiing, cycling to it, by car, snowmobile or any such vehicle. We are also pleased to see you staying or setting up a camp on your Land Project plot. You may forage any natural products from our reserve according to local legislation, wildlife and conservation guidelines.

Can I plant a tree on my land or harvest?
Yes, you may want to plant a tree, bush or other vegetation on your Land. You own the vegetation in your Land and you are free to harvest your land, please notify us and we are happy to help.

Can I place a plaque on my land?
Yes, you may store items and place for example a plaque or any such physical object on your land. Please notify us in case you plan to place visible items.

What can I build on my own land?
You can build anything that does not require official building permit from local government. You can build for example:

  • A 2m x 2m wooden cabin with floor, roof and 3 solid walls. One wall must be open – we suggest away from any prevailing wind. This should be a traditional structure which sustains weather and is likely to last when made properly.
  • A terrace, great as an extra comfortable platform for your tent and for inviting your friends for a stay
  • Outdoor fireplace and sitting area
  • Shelters for birds and wild animals
  • Other constructions not meant for permanent living or industrial usage.
Remember always to respect nature, appreciate your neighbours and other Land Project Patagonia owners. If you are in doubt please notify us regarding your plans for Patagonia Land Project acceptance.

If you want to build a house to live in, please contact philippe@theland-project.org and we'll help you realise your dream of home ownership on land unconnected to The Land Project..

Do i need to report my land in tax report?
You don't need to report your Land Project land possession registration to tax officials.

What do I get?
The agreement-based right of possession to a Land Project plot means that the piece of land and its coordinates shall be registered under the landholder’s name in the Land Project landholding database and that the landholder is in possession of the land area.

Can anyone buy a land from the Project Land Patagonia?
Yes. The Land Project is an opportunity for every person from every country to acquire a piece of land

May I buy a land as a gift?
Yes. The land may be purchased and given to someone else.

May I buy more than one plot of land?
Yes. You may buy as many plots of land you wish.

May I re-sell the land I purchased?
Yes. The new owner has to register and for this administration we'll charge $50 USD as a new owners registration fee. It is this payment that ensures the transfer in our registries. Until this fee is paid the land remains in your name.
